COSTS
The minimum length of placement is one month and the cost for this is €475. Our typical placements are for 3 months. For 4, 8, 12, 24 weeks placements the costs would be as follows:

For a 6 month (24 week) placement the cost per week works out at a very reasonable €54 per week.
A deposit of €256 is payable upon application with the remaining balance due 8 weeks before the start of the placement. If the start date is less than 8 weeks from the date of application the full amount is payable.

WHAT DOES MY APPLICATION FEE INCLUDE?
Induction
When you first arrive in Nong Khai you will receive an induction course on teaching methods, classroom management and Thai classroom culture from members of Vacation To Teach who have been living and working in Thailand for more than 10 years. You will be taken on a tour of the city and enjoy an evening riverboat meal on the Mekong River with fellow volunteers and staff.
Accommodation
You will be housed within a short distance to your place of work. Typically it will be a 3 or 4 bed roomed house, which you will share with other volunteers. For some placements accommodation will be at the schools. There is also the option for home stays - carefully selected families provide you with a friendly and amazing insight into Isan life. .
Transport
On arrival our local staff will pick you up from either the local airport, train or bus stations.
All transport costs are covered if you move to different teaching locations.
Teaching Material
The Schools and Vacations To Travel will provide all teaching material, although volunteers are encouraged to bring photographs, posters, magazines, etc, that can be used to stimulate the students.
Staff BBQ
BBQ's are regularly held giving you a great opportunity to meet fellow volunteers and the local staff.
Festival Trips
Over the course of the year there are various festivals and cultural events held in the province and Vacations To Teach provides transport to and from these events as well as knowledgable guides.
Welcome Pack
T-Shirt, guide book, phrase book, teaching resources.
Thai cookery lessons
Members of Vacations To Teach staff will take you to the fresh food markets and then show you how to prepare and cook many Thai dishes.
Excursions
In addition to the festival trips, Vacations to Teach organizes excursions to places of interest within Nong Khai and the surrounding provinces. All transport and overnight accommodation is provided. Click here for more details.
Certificate
When you leave Nong Khai to continue your vacation there will be a farewell party where you will be presented with a letter of reference and a certificate.
Please note the following are NOT included:
Travel & Health Insurance; Transport from your home country to Nong Khai/Udon Thani; Visa Fees and visa extension fees; all meals apart from lunch when at place of teaching.

Cancellation Charges
1) If your booking is cancelled more than 13 weeks before the start date, there is no cancellation charge and a full refund of all fees paid will be given.
2) If cancellation is made less than 3 months from the start date, the deposit is not refunded.
3) If cancelled between 5 to 8 weeks before the start, and after full payment is made, a charge of 40% of all fees paid will be made.
4) If cancelled less than 4 weeks before the start date, the full amount of fees paid is charged.
